Bank of Louisiana was chartered by the State of Missouri on January 17, 1887. With an original capital of $15,000, the bank opened its doors and has been in business continuously for the past 127 years.
In 1971, the property at Main and Georgia Streets was purchased and a motor bank constructed there. That property was later sold, now known as State Farm Insurance, and property at 3308 Georgia Street was leased on January 11, 1989. This is where the West Branch of Bank of Louisiana is now located.
In 1988, the bank was purchased by Lincoln County Bancorp, Inc., a community bank holding company, and continues to be owned by them today. The capital of Bank of Louisiana as of September 30, 2013 was $4.879 million.
