Citizens Bank is a state-chartered bank that has been serving the financial needs of the residents and businesses of Morgan County and the contiguous areas for over 81 years. Citizens bank was formed in 1931 by a group of concerned citizens when the only bank in the area at the time, Mooresville State Bank was not able to open for business.

Following a change in banking laws, which allowed branching outside of Morgan County, a new office was opened in Plainfield in 1987 to expand service to Hendricks County. During the 10-year period ending in 1999, three new offices were opened in Martinsville and one office was opened in Eminence.

In April of 2003 an office was opened in the Heartland Crossing complex north of Mooresville on St. Rd. 67. The Bank has expanded in the Johnson and Hendricks County areas. County Line road was added in 2004 and Avon, our newest addition, opened in the fall of 2006 to be our 11th location.

Today, Citizens Bank has 150 Officers and employees, 11 banking offices with 12 ATMs, and total assets of over $330 million.
