Farmers Bank was established in 1908 with very little capital stock, but a lot of vision. The Bank's first location was on the northwest corner of Main and Second Streets. In 1916, the Bank was moved to a store building now occupied by the Ritz Civic Center.
hen the Bank moved its main office in 1920 to the corner of Broadway and Main. The current main office, still located at the corner of Broadway and Main, was built and occupied in 1969. Farmers Bank & Trust was the only bank in Mississippi County to survive the Great Depression and stands as the second oldest existing business in Blytheville (behind The New York Store).
The Bank has continued to expand and grow, becoming the largest financial institution in the Greater Blytheville area. Today, there are five branches and ATM locations in the Blytheville/Gosnell area. In addition, Farmers Bank has expanded its services to the Nashville, Tennessee area and currently has two branches and a mortgage company operating in that area.
