Farmers State Bank of Wallace was chartered on May 13, 1918 and was originally located at 247 Commercial Avenue in Wallace, Nebraska. In 1976, Farmers State Bank moved across the street to its current location at 234 South Commercial Avenue in Wallace.
In 1969 Nebanco Inc, a bank holding company, owned by the Niedan family, purchased the Bank and also formed the Wallace Agency to provide insurance offerings to the general public. At that time the Bank had assets of about $1,600,000.The Bank opened a Loan and Deposit Production Office in North Platte in October of 2001 located at 418 North Dewey Street. In 2002, the Loan and Deposit Production Office changed to a full service branch known as Farmers State Bank of North Platte.
The Bank that originally started with two full time employees and one part-time employee has since grown to employ 12 and has assets approaching $40,000,000 and provides services to account holders in a multi state region.
