Terms and Definitions

• Domestic deposits

  The sum of all domestic deposits, including demand deposits, money market deposits and time deposits.
• Equity capital

  Total equity capital (includes preferred and common stock, surplus and undivided profits).
• ROA

  Return on assets, net income after taxes and extraordinary items (annualized) as a percent of average total assets.
• ROE

  Return on equity, annualized net income as a percent of average equity on a consolidated basis.

The story of the Northland Financial began in December of 1932 as the doors opened to a new era when the First National Bank of Steele became the Bank of Steele. Thirty-six years later the Bank of Steele was purchased by a local entrepreneur, Ralph Molbert and business partners. In 2000, the bank expanded into new services with the purchase of Midwest Leasing Inc. a commercial leasing company located in Bismarck. In December of the same year the bank officially changed name from the Bank of Steele to Northland Financial.
