Randall State Bank was chartered in 1928 by founder, J.H. Brekken and local investors. With dedication and commitment it grew, continuing to add products and services that met the needs of customers, agriculture and business. In 1964, Carroll B. Kinseth purchased controlling interest in the bank. The Pioneer Building, a Story City landmark, was purchased and renovated in 1972 and remains the current Story City location.
he bank was renamed Randall-Story State Bank. The bank became an affiliate of Ames National Corporation in 1995. An extensive renovation of the bank's facade was completed in 2004. In April 2012, the bank expanded into the Garner and Klemme communities and changed the bank name to Reliance State Bank.
The mission of Reliance State Bank is to be a community minded bank by giving friendly, courteous service that meets the needs of the customer, to be involved in community betterment and provide a knowledgeable staff to carry out these responsibilities.
