Scribner Bank focuses on serving the community and its surrounding area while focusing on its local agricultural, commercial and retail customers. The original State Charter dates back to July 17, 1917 which was issued to Farmers State Bank. At that time there were three banks in Scribner, The Scribner State, The First National and Farmers State Bank. In the early thirties (1933), the Roosevelt Administration was moving to relieve the country-wide depression. By presidential edict, all banks in the nation were closed. The three Scribner banks were later reopened on a restricted basis. In 1934 two banks in Scribner (Farmers State Bank and First National Bank) were restored to full operation after having functioned on a restricted basis during the national moratorium declared more than a year earlier.

Assets in 1963 were $4,500,000 and in January 1970 had increased to $8,500,000, making it one of the strongest banks in the area. By 1980 it stood at $24,000,000; and currently in 2007 it stands at $49,000,000.

Renovations and improvements have been continually made during the time period of 1963 to 2007. The addition of Scribner Insurance which was first located in the back portion of the bank along with the Bank Drive-In area was later moved next to the bank, with the purchase of the Loft Building giving Scribner Insurance a main-street entrance. Later acquisition of the Grosserode Drug, Lohmeyer Plumbing and Lamberty Variety buildings gave way to expansion of Scribner Bank, Scribner Insurance, the addition of Scribner Financial Services and most recently the home of the Scribner Economic Development Office. Insuring that the Scribner Pharmacy had a home, the Lamberty Variety building was remodeled and now houses Scribner Pharmacy.

Scribner Bank continues to be independently owned, allowing the bank to control the decision making process.
