The First National Bank of Powhatan Point has been a trusted Powhatan Point financial institution for over 100 years. The original location was in a little house on First Street in downtown, but the bank later moved to a commercial building on the same street, where it stayed for many years.
Unfortunately, a couple of disasters affected the bank over the years. In the 1930s, flood water reached the downtown bank. In 1995, fire completely destroyed the second First Street location. As a result, a new building had to be built, which is where the bank is currently located on Ohio Route 7.
Ninety-five percent of The First National Bank of Powhatan Point is owned by local stockholders. The First National Bank of Powhatan Point is community oriented, providing support to the Powhatan Lions Club, the Powhatan Senior Citizens, River High School, and other local schools.
The First National Bank of Powhatan Point offers services to fit its customers’ needs: 24-hour banking ATM, Saturday hours, debit cards, checking accounts, savings accounts, Christmas Club accounts, mortgage loans, auto loans, personal loans, safe deposit boxes, money orders, cashier’s checks and certificates of deposit.
