Originally founded, as the Mount Carmel Banking Company on December 12, 1894, by Thomas M. Righter and eleven other local businessmen and entrepreneurs, the institution became UNB on October 10, 1906. UNB is one of the oldest financial institutions in the Mount Carmel area, and the Bank still holds dear their old values of customer oriented banking.

UNB has seen many changes over the years including a devastating fire, which occurred on July 4, 1993 totally destroying the original landmark structure. The determination of both directors and employees, as well as their overall dedication to the Mount Carmel area were the forces behind a grand reconstruction and rededication of the building in December 1994.

With consistently lower fees and consistently competitive rates; UNB is proud to call itself your hometown bank.
