Founded in 1893, Washington State Bank is based in Washington, Louisiana, and is celebrating 120 years of premiere community service. The bank is the oldest state chartered bank in St. Landry Parish, and the second oldest state chartered bank in the State of Louisiana.
When Washington State Bank began, the small town of Washington, Louisiana was the hub of trade for the area. The steamboat traffic on Bayou Courtableau and the railroad had turned Washington into a major trading post. Fortunately, today the bank is located at the virtual crossroads of I-10 and I-49, and are positioned for continued prosperity.
Washington State Bank branch locations are in Opelousas, Arnaudville, Leonville, and Palmetto and the bank now have a Lafayette office located in River Ranch.
