Bank of Chestnut was formed as a private bank in 1902 by Michael Leimbach. In 1919, Bank of Chestnut was issued a charter by the State of Illinois. The family continues to own and manage the Bank and from then until now. The bank is located in the Village of Chestnut, Illinois, which is the geographic center of the State. The Bank of Chestnut offers consumer, real estate, commercial and agricultural loans, checking and saving accounts, CD's and IRA's.

The Bank of Chestnut doubled in size again in 2000 with the addition off the "back" of the bank. This allowed for more office space, storage and a large meeting room.
