The Bank of Jena was established in 1906, when its doors opened on the corner of First and Oak Street in Jena, Louisiana. In 1913, the current downtown building was constructed and has been serving the community ever since. As the community grew, the Northside Jena facility was constructed to offer more convenience to the inhabitants of the southern part of LaSalle Parish. With continued growth, the Olla Branch was constructed to serve the northern part of the parish, while the Holloway and Libuse Branches were later built to serve those who are in the northeast region of Rapides Parish.
The Bank of Jena celebrated its 100th year in 2006 and is very proud of its rich history over the years. The bank has never closed its doors - not even during the Great Depression - and has always been there for the promotion of business within Central Louisiana. The Bank of Jena is the oldest bank domiciled in LaSalle Parish, and the second oldest business still operating parish wide. It is the only bank within LaSalle Parish that is truly locally owned and operated.
