Terms and Definitions

• Domestic deposits

  The sum of all domestic deposits, including demand deposits, money market deposits and time deposits.
• Equity capital

  Total equity capital (includes preferred and common stock, surplus and undivided profits).
• ROA

  Return on assets, net income after taxes and extraordinary items (annualized) as a percent of average total assets.
• ROE

  Return on equity, annualized net income as a percent of average equity on a consolidated basis.

The Cottonport Bank was founded by Mr. G.W. Sentell, Dr. C.J. Ducote, Mr. Tom M. Mathews, and other prominent residents of Cottonport and the surrounding areas on June 21, 1902.

In 1915, a new branch was built on the corner of Cottonport Ave. and Main St. In 1951, the building was remodeled and air conditioning was installed. At that time, this branch was considered by many to be one of the finest financial institutions in the state. In 1927, The Cottonport Bank absorbed the struggling Farmers’ Bank, which was located in Cottonport. The building that is presently used was built in 1978. The first branch of the bank was built in Plaucheville in 1974.
