Terms and Definitions

• Domestic deposits

  The sum of all domestic deposits, including demand deposits, money market deposits and time deposits.
• Equity capital

  Total equity capital (includes preferred and common stock, surplus and undivided profits).
• ROA

  Return on assets, net income after taxes and extraordinary items (annualized) as a percent of average total assets.
• ROE

  Return on equity, annualized net income as a percent of average equity on a consolidated basis.

Originally chartered in 1914, Mid America Bank has a proud, growth-filled heritage. The bank began as the Peoples Bank of St. Thomas. In 1951, the bank was relocated to Meta where it operated as the sole location for 27 years and was renamed Meta State Bank. Another name change happened in 1978 when Mid America Bank was born and a second branch opened in Linn. Since 1993 the Mid America Bank has steadily expanded to include a third branch in Wardsville that expanded customer focus into all of Cole county, a fourth full-service banking facility in Holts Summit, and a fifth branch in Belle which opened in 2008. Mid America bank enlarged its Wardsville branch by 6,600 square feet and hired 23 new employees in 2011.

This year the financial institution hopes to continue that growth and look for new ways to further satisfy the needs of their customers.
