Muleshoe State Bank as it is known today was organized in 1914 when some enterprising, progressive young men decided that Muleshoe and Bailey County needed a bank. The original name was Blackwater Valley State Bank, the bank with a purpose for Muleshoe, West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

From a one room building to its current facility located at 101 West American Boulevard in Muleshoe with a branch location in Farwell at 801 Avenue A. Muleshoe State Bank stands as a monument to the economic progress of the people of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Muleshoe State Bank is a locally owned full service community bank and a member of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas.
